An event to celebrate Chinese New Year and raise money for children...
The CNYTrust Ball is an event organised by the CNY Society at Cambridge
University. While the majority of the guests are students at the University,
guests from all over are welcome to the dinner. The CNYTrust Ball has been
run annually since 2001 and is normally held either in the last week of
January or early February, depending on the date of Chinese New Year.
This
year's ball was held at the Cambridge Guild Hall on the 3rd of February
2007, and a record 3600 pounds was raised.
The event includes a traditional chinese dinner followed by a cultural event. During the event we try to also try to help guests understand the education problem in China. We hope that this way we can help spread the message of what we do and encourage more people to help.
The team behind the event
Every year a new committee is elected to organise the ball. The actual organisation of the event itself makes for a great experience and it is one that many ex committee admit caused a number of sleepless nights! Attending the celebrations
Each year the ball caters for over 300 guests, tickets can often be purchased as dining or non dining and details can be found on the Society's website. All members of CNYTrust will be sent invitations to the ball and if possible friends of CNYTrust will be entitiled to discounts on the tickets.
