Events
Live, Learn and Laugh!
Many of our events are designed with this motto in mind. We think that fund raising should be a fun and educational experience. For example, in our recent CNYTrust "Run 6K for School" over 100 runners helped raise over 6,000 pounds towards our school building project. As one participant commented the combination of getting outside for some exercise, meeting up and chatting to friends and at the same time learning about and support the school made for an unbeatable Sunday morning!
Fund-raising events
Each year we hope to organise two large fund-raising events. Firstly the CNYTrust Ball is an annual ball celebrating Chinese New Year which is held in Cambridge University. From the first ball in 2001 the event has grown and become more successful with each successive year. The Ball is organised by the Cambridge CNYTrust Society and tickets are available in December.
Following the success of the run organised in the Autumn of 2003, we are now hoping to organise a yearly "Run 6K for school" in London. Please stay posted for further details!
Other events
As a non-profit organisation accepting donations we strive to keep our activities as transparent as possible. Each year we hold an Annual Meeting to discuss how we have used donations, to go over reports of the children we have sponsored, the development of our school and an analysis of the events we have held. For these meetings we welcome our associate members as participants to help us improve.
We also hope to hold a variety of educational events in future, where we can discuss the role of education in society and the benefits that education can have on society as a whole.
