Voluntary Student Officer
If you are a current university student
looking for challenge, enjoy working in a team environment and most importantly
want to work for a good cause, then we would like to invite you to join us
as Voluntary Student Officer (VSO).
After seven years of hard work, CNYTrust is now looking to expand its footsteps beyond Cambridge in order to help more children gain access to rural education. If you think you are devoted, passionate and willing to make a difference, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. CNYTrust is planning to set up operations in all the top UK universities, and we would like you to be part of our team.
The main responsibilities for VSOs will include:
• Setting up a CNYTrust operation in the University
• Increase awareness of CNYTrust at the University level
• Organising various fund raising events (e.g. Charity Ball, Charity
Run, Charity Concert etc.)
• Maintaining a database of people attending or interested in the
fundraising events for CNYTrust
Of course, the trust will always act as a permanent institution to support VSOs and give VSOs help when needed. VSOs are integral to the structure of the CNYTrust as they provide the pool of candidates from whom new Trustees are elected. It is hoped that our VSO will be able to work closely from the present trustees, learning from them whilst maintaining contact with their Universities.
As a VSO, skills such as teamwork and interpersonal skills are crucial but more importantly we want our VSO to have a belief in what the Trust is trying to achieve. They should be motivated to work under the belief in providing under-privileged children in China with an opportunity of being educated.
